Welcome to the Winter ’24 Release! Salesforce Release is the process by which Salesforce updates its software platform to add new features, enhancements, and bug fixes. Salesforce releases typically occur three times a year, in spring, summer, and winter, and are named after the season in which they are released. In this post, I am going to share all the new enhancements related to permissions that are coming along with Winter 24 release …
Here are highlights from article Salesforce Winter 24 Release | Permission Related Enhancements – Technical Potpourri from Sudipta Deb
1. Improved visibility of permissions:
– Salesforce has made it easier to manage permissions within a permission set.
– Users can now view all active object, user, and field permissions on a single page.
– This eliminates the need for multiple clicks and makes it more convenient to oversee users’ access and permissions.
2. Access to permission set groups:
– The new feature allows users to identify the permission set groups that include a particular permission set.
– This helps in understanding the overall assignment and organization of permissions across different groups.
3. “View Summary (Beta)” button:
– When opening any permission set, users will find a new button named “View Summary (Beta)” at the top of the page.
– Clicking on this button will provide a summary of the permission set, including all active permissions and their details.
4. Enhanced permissions management:
– The ability to view all permissions in one place improves the efficiency of managing permissions.
– It eliminates the need to navigate through multiple pages and helps administrators quickly identify and modify permissions as needed.
5. Simplified oversight of user access:
– With the improved visibility of permissions, it becomes easier to ensure that users have the appropriate access levels and permissions.
– Administrators can quickly review and update permissions, ensuring security and compliance within the organization.
